About Zoom Out Mycology

At Zoom Out Mycology, we manufacture and distribute mushroom teas blended with fruits, herbs, and flowers.  We are committed to increasing accessibility through formulation of pleasantly palatable and potent mushroom teas, mycology education and traveling tea tastings. We use sustainable practices to grow mushrooms, source herbs and serve mushroom teas. Our core values are adaptability, holistic health and inclusiveness.

WHAT WE DO:

Herbal Mushroom Tea Manufacturing & Distribution.

Our primary business activity is mushroom tea manufacturing and distribution. To “Zoom Out” is to look at the big picture of sustainability including social, environmental, economic and institutional tactics for making or reducing an impact. We operate a commercial kitchen in Cottage Grove (shout-out to our friends at Bohemia Food Hub) and are building a farm operation in Springfield, Oregon. Sustainability is imbedded into the mission, vision and business plan of Zoom Out Mycology!

Events & Education.

We are committed to increasing access within the field of mycology through education and events. Our programs are most often centered around sustainability and wellness although founder Bashira has training and skills in Mushroom Cultivation, Soil Remediation, Sustainability Leadership and Environmental and Agricultural Research Design. We hope to see you at a tea party or other mycology events we host and attend!

Meet Founder Bashira

Bashira is a scientist, writer, farmer and CEO of Zoom Out Mycology. Her professional role looks like managing a commercial kitchen and farm operation, hosting and participating in tea and mushroom festivals and other wellness or sustainability related events. She is passionate about creating and maintaining inclusive spaces, holistic healthy living, and sustainable agriculture. Her personal interests include self-care and nature time with friends in Oregon.

Bashira has a degree in Environment Science & Policy (ESP) from Southern Oregon University which she obtained while building, and then operating, her first farm operation in Central Point. The purpose behind Bashira's ESP degree seeking was to gain experience and skills in agricultural research design. Bashira is an articulate public speaker, educator and research scientist who has delivered fungi-centric programs along the East and West Coast since ZOM was established at the start of 2017. Passion, persistence and perseverance have shaped her time as founder of ZOM.
